Fernando Barnuevo Sebastián de Erice is Managing Partner and Founder of Big Blue Holding, a privately owned Real Estate Investment Group focused in Spain and the USA. He is also a Senior Advisor to Perella Weinberg Partners, a leading US independent investment bank.
The main focus during his 30 year career in financial services has been on investment banking, asset management, private banking, and technology.

Mr. Barnuevo worked at JPMorgan (1985-2004, in San Francisco and
NYC) where he has held several senior management positions, including President of Leadership JPMorgan Chase, the firm’s first global leadership initiative. Mr. Barnuevo spent nearly two decades at JPMorgan in a wide range of capital markets, corporate finance, technology, and emerging markets management roles. He served as a member of the firm’s Financial Institutions Management Committee, where he held global responsibility over JPMorgan’s FIG-Investor Client Management, one of the investment bank’s largest client businesses.

 During his career at JPM, he was also part of the European Technology and Operations Management team and a member of the Global Equities Management Committee. He joined Integrated Finance Limited (IFL) and served as a Managing Director from 2004 to 2009. IFL was a small specialized investment banking firm focused on asset management and risk advisory. It was founded by a group of senior executives from JPMorgan and Robert Merton (Economic Sciences Nobel Laureate).
Mr. Barnuevo joined Kleinwort Benson Advisers in London (2009-2014) as Senior Partner, playing a leading role in the acquisition, technology restructuring, and business repositioning of Kleinwort Benson Bank.
In 2014, he founded BigBlue Real Estate Holding. The company invests in prime land and development projects in Spain and USA with a value approach. It is currently focused in Spain where it holds a diverse portfolio of assets.
Mr. Barnuevo serves as Chairman of the Instituto de Empresa (IE) Fund, member of the International Board, and President of IE Global Alumni. He is also part of Caixa´s Private Bank Advisory Board.
Born in Madrid in 1962, Mr. Barnuevo is a Law Degree graduate from the Universidad
Complutense and has an International MBA from IE. He is regularly involved in continuous education programs with a focus in disruptive technologies, humanities, philosophy, and art (NYU School of Professional Studies and IE).
He is married to Gloria Ybarra and has five children. He holds US and Spanish citizenships, now residing between Spain and the USA.

Su participación más conocida fue en La bola de cristal, programa de televisión emitido en Televisión Española durante la década de los años ochenta, que apostaba por tratar a los niños como personas adultas y reflejaba el cambio sociopolítico que supuso la Transición española y la explosión cultural y musical conocida como la movida madrileña.
